Description

Cockroaches are among the most primitive winged insects living today, around since the time of the dinosaurs!  There are approximately 4,600 species of roaches – though only about 30 are associated with human habitats.

This piece was originally part of a two-part sculpture (tarantula and cockroach, entitled “The Last Tango”) and was commissioned by Na “Aina Kai Sculpture and Botanical Gardens on Kauai, Hawaii, as part of their Native American Navajo Village, and placed inside a small cave of the red-rock escarpment.
